| From a very young age, Robert Reed listened to his mother teach the piano, sitting in on many lessons, and learning a lot himself. By the age of six Rob began studying classical music as a flautist, and later, as a drummer/ percussionist. Being constantly surrounded by music has created the passion and drive in him to become a top player in his field. By sixteen, Rob began to work professionally with local contemporary music groups. He also entered the Colchester Institute, a top musical college, mastering in performance on drum kit and percussion, and consequently pursuing his career. A year later, Rob was getting recognised. Since then, Rob has gained considerably more experience in the studio, live concerts and even at rehearsals. He has worked in the live area all over the South-East of England and has played in many venues from pubs to concert halls. Rob has recorded live and in amateur studios extensively, and intends to do much more work in this area. Having so much energy to do work and a willingness to learn, Rob always endeavours to know more. Working in the studio, Rob has massive enthusiasm to get the track laid in only a few takes, adapting his style to fit the producer's ideas. He can easily absorb a brief, but is always open to offering ideas on how he thinks he could improve the piece. Rob is currently working with two bands in which he is both recording and playing live around the area. His technical ability is at a high level but he keeps the groove steady and precise. Every situation is different and Rob is fully aware of this and adapts well to most situations. I do have a few chops but that isn't necessarily what people want to hear. Rob is one of most affordable professional drummers available on the session scene today, but still has the quality most people look for in a seasoned professional player. |
